Fan Arts

January 23, 2017.

wow, has it been that long.

I remember in 2016-2017 I was obsessed with League of legends characters. Working on these fan arts, studying the characters, their proportions and lighting was so important for me. Getting almost every detail right made me feel so much more closer to them. I guess loved the game so much, I didn't want to disappoint the original artists that made the splash arts and worked on the characters themselves.

That's also something I despise about these fan arts as well. I wanted to perfect every detail from the original artists so much that I lost my own originality. I would sometimes feel ashamed of it, hell I still feel that way when i look at Diana.

But I'm happy I went through this phase because I realised sooner rather than later that art is about expressing yourself, fan art especially. For me fan art is about how you perceive the character, not how the original artists portrays it.

And it also opened up the world of original characters for me. )
